'If Sanusi loses, Malaysia will remember my name' - Khizri
SIK - Jeneri state BN candidate Datuk Muhamad Khizri Abu Kassim said he will become famous if he manages to topple Perikatan Nasional (PN) incumbent Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor.
He described himself as the underdog and realised he faced a big named individual in Kedah for the election, but he is not wavering.
"I don't feel the pressure just because I am going against the Kedah Menteri Besar there's no pressure or worries
"As an underdog I'm optimistic there's a chance to challenge him (Sanusi).
"If I lose it's a normal thing, but if I win Malaysia will know my name for the next five years," he told reporters after the official announcement on the candidates by the Election Commission
When asked about the strategy and manifesto in Jeneri, Khizri who is the Sik Umno division chief said he would focus on efforts to develop a capital through education.
"I will meet with as many party (members) including the youth voters.
"The youth are easily influenced by social media, I will try to meet them to explain what we want to implement," he said.
Speaking on the potential of himself to hold the Menteri Besar post, Khizri said he left it to the party grassroots leadership if he was successful in winning the seat.
