Unity govt: Only six to seven months to prove ourselves, Amirudin says

GOMBAK - It only takes six to seven months for unity government to prove itself, says Caretaker Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

Amirudin expressed to date, unity government had proven to solve many issues.

"For the past six to seven months, we have shown this by working together with every unit in Pakatan Harapan (PH), which shows unity.

"We can govern and solve the issues one by one, such as the pandemic, flood, supply chains and now, the country's food supply has become stable.

"We can also see prices (of goods) are going down and foreign investments are coming in.

"It has only been six to seven months, but we can see the results," he said at the press conference here after the filing his nomination.

Commenting further, he added both his team and Juwairiya Zulkifli, who contested in Hulu Kelang had been professional in this state election.

"Hopefully, we can make it again (win) and this is the reality of politics as you need to accept it.

"Sometimes you will be different and sometimes the same alignment, such as the coalition between PH and BN," he said.

Meanwhile, Amirudin also expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Election Commission (EC) authorities for supporting the parade.

"Insya-Allah, we will show the same performance like last year by winning Sungai Tua.

"We are confident that we would make a change together with BN," he expressed.

Earlier in the morning, the nomination registration was held and three candidates would officially compete at Sungai Tua – Amirudin, Suman Gopal and Hanif Jamaluddin.

EC had set the date of the state elections for the six states on Aug 12 in the six states.

The voting centres would be announced soon.
