State polls: Hopeful of winning - Muhyiddin

GOMBAK: "Hopefully we win," says Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin

He said this when met by the media at the candidate nomination centre at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK), Sungai Pusu here, today.

He arrived at about 8.20am accompanying candidate for Hulu Kelang State Legislative Assembly seat who is also Selangor PN election director Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali.

Muhyiddin also accompanied Gombak Setia state seat incumbent Muhammad Hilman Idham and Sungai Tua seat candidate Muhammad Hanif Jamaluddin.

In the Selangor polls, a total of 138 candidates from various political parties were vying for 56 state seats.

The Pakatan Harapan (PH)-Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition fielded 20 candidates from PKR, 15 from DAP, 12 from BN and nine from Amanah.

PN fielded 31 candidates from Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), 17 from Pas and eight seats were contested by Gerakan. - AWANI
