BAYAN LEPAS - The nomination day at Dewan Bukit Belah was filled with anticipation as Gerakan president Dominic Lau made his grand entrance at 8.40am.

Resembling a dove in his white shirt, Lau was welcomed with enthusiastic cheers, accompanied by the anthem song of Perikatan Nasional (PN). The nomination centre was a sea of light blue and red, representing both PN and PH candidates.

However, noticeably absent were Pas supporters, who were not present to cheer on Lau, the representative of the Gerakan party.

Earlier in the day, the scene was vibrant as former Bayan Lepas assemblyman, Azrul Mahathir Aziz, arrived at the nomination centre.

He was met with the warm embrace of hundreds of Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) supporters, making for an eventful and energetic start to the nomination process.

The atmosphere was charged with excitement as political leaders and their supporters gathered to mark the beginning of an intense electoral contest in Bayan Lepas.

With the presence of multiple parties and their candidates, the competition for this parliamentary seat is set to be closely watched by voters and political enthusiasts alike.

As the campaign unfolds, both PN and PH candidates are expected to engage in spirited campaigns to win the hearts and minds of the constituents.
