Sanusi challenges Saifuddin to answer to scandal allegations while PH, BN governed Kedah
ALOR SETAR - Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has been challenged to investigate three scandal allegations involving Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan (PH) while the coalitions governed Kedah.
Kedah caretaker Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor said Syarikat Air Darul Aman (Sada) had allegedly suffered a loss of RM36 million and was in a RM149 million debt while PH governed the state between 2018 and 2020.
He claimed that the Kedah government under his leadership had to use other funds to pay off the debt to save the company.
"He (Saifuddin) is always asking us to answer and tonight (Wednesday) I want to ask the question and you (Saifuddin) must answer. During the time when PH became the government in 2018 to 2020, Sada suffered losses amounting to RM36 million and had a RM149 million debt, why did you not investigate the matter?.
"I had to pay RM36 million and RM149 million, why didn't you invetigate it? Go ahead and investigate. RM185 million was all PH's doings, Pudin (Saifuddin) please go and investigate," he said during a ceremony to announce the Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidates for the Kedah state election at the Kedah Pas complex in Kota Sarang Semut, here, last night.
He urged Saifuddin to investigate the agreement BN made with a company during its administration to develop the Jerai International Park, but the agreement had been allegedly violated causing the state government to be sued for RM50 million.
"After 30 years of negotiations, the state government has to pay RM21 million, why didn't you (Saifuddin) investigate?," he said.
Sanusi also questioned why the RM13 million Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI) funds transferred to Canada when BN ruled the state was not investigated.
"It was done during the BN era and they did this, now BN and PH have 'kissed and made up'. The ones who have to pay for it are the people of Kedah living today, the ones who did it was BN. Pudin please investigate it since you like investigating," he said.
The Kedah PN chairman said he made the revelation after he was pressed with various issues including for the theft of rare earth elements (REE) in Bukit Enggang, Sik.
He said political issues should be solved in the political arena instead of using government agencies to take action.
"There are more files in my office and never once in the last three years did we have the intention to expose anyone," said the incumbent Jeneri assemblyman.
