Weaknesses in Malay economic empowerment can be overcome - Tun M
MUKHRIZ MAT HUSIN MOHD AZLIM ZAINURYSHAH ALAM - The weaknesses of the Malays from an economic standpoint can be overcome if there is an alternative in terms of providing business training.
Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said Malays must generate their own success through the business field.
"Our culture is not in business, we are different from that.
"That's why we are not experts in business, this can be overcome if we create training for them to become competent in business.
"Today, there are a lot of actions that are detrimental to the Malays, that's why we find them falling behind. If given a chance, we know the methods to overcome this," he said.
He said this during the 'Bicara Negarawan dan Agamawan untuk Rakyat Malaysia' Town Hall at the i-City Convention Centre, i-City Central Walk, yesterday.
Also present was Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang.
Dr Mahathir said the country should overcome the issue of existing problems including the economic decline if there was no involvement of the kakistocracy government.
"We must remember that previously we faced more issues and we did not only overcome it, but we made more from it and became an example for other nations.
"I'm confident if we don't have a kakistocracy government, if we become the government, we will organise how we will overcome the obstacles that are causing us to face the bad economy," he said.
