Baby Shima to cancel plans to contest in state polls if nominated in Kelantan
MUKHRIZ MAT HUSINSHAH ALAM - It is unclear whether Baby Shima, a dangdut singer, will run in the state elections, following a video posted on her Instagram.
Baby Shima, real name Nor Ashima Ramli, said she would cancel her plans if nominated for a Kelantan seat.
"Oh no, if that's the case, I'm sorry, YB Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar, I won't contest.
"Sorry everyone, I don't want to contest anymore(if that's the case)," she said in the video on Tuesday.
In the video, Baby Shima asked the former Umno youth chief which state would suit her to contest in the upcoming state polls, to which Khairy replied, "Kelantan".
Last Monday, the songstress announced she would contest in the upcoming state elections.
She, however, kept the party she would be representing private.
On July 5th, the Election Commission announced that the polls in six states would be held simultaneously on Aug 12, with candidate nomination taking place on July 29.
Meanwhile, early voting day is on August 8.
