Salahuddin made media affairs easier for practitioners, says Sinar Harian Editor-in-Chief
NOR SYAMIRA LIANA NOR ASHAHASHAH ALAM - "The late Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub was a leader known for his humility and willingness to help others, particularly media professionals," said Sinar Harian Editor-in-Chief Zamri Rambli.
Zamri added that he had met the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister several times concerning media assignments.
"Earlier this year, Sinar Harian organised the Bisnes Sinar Harian Awards (BISA) to recognise the accomplishments of Malaysian businesses and entrepreneurs.
"Initially, we invited a minister with a business portfolio, but we were informed that he could not make it a week before the programme.
"We decided to invite Salahuddin at the last minute because his ministry is mobilising Daya Rahmah," he said.
Despite having other commitments during the award ceremony day, Zamri said the Pulai Member of Parliament attended and inaugurated the event. He also took pictures with the winners.
He explained that Salahuddin never complained and continued supporting the media.
"Not only BISA, but Allahyarham also did not hesitate to agree to be a guest of Sinar Harian's 'Town Hall Rakyat' programme.
"The programme was quite challenging as the audience asked questions during the live session. However, Salahuddin was very calm and intelligent in his answering," he said.
Due to Salahuddin's helpful nature, Zamri expressed that Sinar Harian appreciates the earnestness of the minister and his ministry for successfully making the 'Rahmah' initiative a phenomenon in Malaysia.
"May Allah forgive all his sins, accept all his deeds and raise his rank," Zamri said.
