TAPAH - The dangerous act of two men riding motorcycles 'ala Superman' that went viral on social media resulted in their arrest today.

The 19 and 21-year-old friends were arrested at two separate locations in Tanjung Tualang, Batu Gajah, at around 11am.

Perak Police Chief Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said the arrest was based on the viral video showing the riders performing stunts while leaning forward and lying flat on the motorcycle.

"Both men, who work as technicians and maintainers of palm oil machines admitted to riding the motorcycle as shown in the circulated recording.

"They, along with the seized motorcycles were brought to the Tapah Police Headquarters for further investigation under Section 42 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987," he said in a statement here.

He said the incident took place at Kilometer 329 of the North-South Expressway in the northbound direction in the Tapah area at approximately 1:47 p.m. on Sunday.

"They, along with the seized motorcycles, were brought to the Tapah District Police Headquarters for further investigation under Section 42 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987," he said in a statement here.

He said the incident took place at Kilometer 329 of the North-South Expressway at the northbound direction in the Tapah area at about 1.45 pm on yesterday.

The 1-minute and 3-second video was recorded from the dashboard camera of a vehicle traveling from Tanjung Malim to Ipoh.
