Salahuddin's final advice: Positions are temporary
SHAH ALAM - "Being a minister or holding whatever position we have today, be aware that it is only temporary," said the late Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub.
He said this during a face-to-face dialogue session with students at the Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) 2023 Convention Festival Townhall last Friday.
Through a recording lasting one minute and 30 seconds uploaded on social media, Salahuddin also reminded Muslims to make Prophet Muhammad an example.
"For me, it's easy, whether it's becoming a minister or getting the highest position in the civil service or becoming the Chief of Police, we have to remember, until when will that position last?"
"I came here with an official car, a bodyguard, and a driver and today alone, I have seven officers with me, but when will all this last? Until the end?" he asked.
Salahuddin, 61, breathed his last at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital at 9.23pm while still in the Intensive Care Unit. His daughter, Fatihah Salahuddin, announced the news of his death through sharing on social media, Facebook.
