No axes or daggers on my TikTok account - Sanusi
YAN - Caretaker Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor has denied that his TikTok social media account displayed weapons such as axes and daggers, which led to it being restricted.
Sanusi said that there were no weapon images or any connection to violent elements on his social media platform.
"I have checked and there are no axes, not even 'cap kapak' oil. Why would I put an axe? There is no basis for this," he said after presenting Grants and Temporary Occupation Licenses (LPS) for the Yan District here today.
Sanusi said that the statement made by a minister characterising his account as having elements of criminal threats was not reasonable.
Earlier, it was reported the explanation of the Communications and Digital Minister, Fahmi Fadzil, regarding the restriction imposed on the official TikTok account of the caretaker Menteri Besar, which is believed to be due to displaying weapons such as axes and daggers.
Fahmi said that the action clearly violated the community guidelines of the social media platform.
Sinar also previously reported Sanusi's statement claiming that his TikTok account was restricted in an alleged attempt to prevent campaigning through online means.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution also explained that the government does not have the authority to restrict any TikTok accounts as it is owned by a technology company from China.
