DAP to contest 15 Selangor state assembly seats, six new faces

KUALA LUMPUR - The Democratic Action Party will contest 15 Selangor State Legislative Assembly seats in the upcoming state polls on Aug 12.

DAP Secretary-General Anthony Loke Siew Fook said nine are incumbents and six are new candidates.

"Out of these 15 new candidates, I congratulate Selangor DAP for introducing candidates with an average age of 43.6 years.

"None of the candidates are over 60," he said.

He said this during Monday's DAP Candidate Announcement Ceremony for the Selangor state polls at DAP headquarters.

He added that out of all the Selangor state assembly candidates, ten or two-thirds are male, while the rest are female.

"We considered everything. We place them to ensure victory in all the contested seats (Selangor State Assembly).

"All these (15 seats) are incumbent seats won by DAP," he said.
