Salahuddin Ayub has died

SHAH ALAM - Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub has died at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Setar, Kedah, today. He was 61.
According to a statement by the ministry, Salahuddin took his last breath at 9.23pm.
“With a heavy heart, we would like to inform that Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub took his last breath at 9.23pm on July 23, 2023,” it said.
His remains will be brought to his mother’s home at Kampung Serkat (Kopi Tenggek) in Tanjung Piai, Johor.
The ministry said its office would be updating on the process of the management of the remains, soon.
Earlier, Salahuddin's daughter, Fatihah broke the news on her father's passing in a social media post.
"Our head of the family, Salahuddin Ayub took his last breath at 9.23pm on July 23, 2023," she said in the post.
It was reported that Salahuddin, 61, was being placed in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the hospital in Alor Setar, Kedah after he underwent surgery to treat a brain haemorrhage, yesterday.
Salahuddin was rushed to the hospital for treatment at 10.15pm the day before, after experiencing nausea and vomiting.
It was later confirmed that he had a brain hemorrhage.
Salahuddin was Pulai MP and the vice-president of Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah).
Before joining Amanah, he was the Pas vice-president from 2009 to 2015.
He was appointed as the Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister following Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) victory in the 14th General Election (GE14) before he resigned from the post on Feb 24, 2020.
