SHAH ALAM - Pakatan Harapan must honour the ‘social contract’ that has been given by Selangorians.

According to PKR vice president Nurul Izzah Anwar the 'social contract' refers to the trust that has been given by the people of Selangor to the PKR and the Pakatan Harapan coalition since 2008.

She said this in her speech at an event to announce the candidates for the upcoming state polls at Padang Awan MBSA, Seksyen 7 today.

"We must honour this 'social contract', this is important, because I have competed in the previous election. I was honoured by the people and this is the most beautiful experience in my life.

"When I say honour I mean appreciate the trust that has been given to us," she stressed in her speech.

Izzah also noted how the current political climate was full of hatred and racism and using religion as part of politicking.

"This has become a phenomenon in our country and has become somewhat of a challenge.

"Not only America, but we are also suffering from this. We have to join forces and stay optimistic," she advised.
