The 1975's disrespectful actions: Police to summon organiser
SHAH ALAM - The police will summon the organiser of the Good Vibes Festival 2023 following the incident involving British band The 1975 during the concert that took place at the Sepang International Circuit, last night.
Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the organisers will be called to have their statement recorded over the matter, this afternoon.
"So far, the police have received no reports regarding the incident," he said, today.
Meanwhile, KLIA district police chief Assistant Commissioner Imran Abd Rahman said every concert organisers received approval to hold such events and they must comply to several regulations set by the agencies involved.
"This kind of disrespectful act should not happen and the police should give a reminder so that these things would not happen again.
"It is also understood that the organisers took action to stop the performance by The 1975 immediately following a band members' actions who behaved indecently during the concert," he said.
It was reported that The 1975's performance at the Good Vibes Festival 2023 was stopped after its vocalist Matty Healy portrayed disrespectful actions in front of fans.
The singer was accused of holding a bottle of alcohol while on stage and making a speech insulting Malaysia's laws related to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community.
