SHAH ALAM - The Good Vibes Festival 2023 day 2 and 3 has been cancelled.

Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil said he understood there would be implications towards festival-goers who had already purchased their tickets.

“We will work out with the organisers the best way posssible to reimburse those who had purchased the tickets,” Fahmi said in a Twitter thread today.

Fahmi stressed that the unity government’s stand was clear on the matter.

“The government will not compromise on any party that belittles and goes against the law of this country,” he said.

Fahmi also tweeted that he had a meeting with the organisers of the festival Future Sound Asia, on the incident involving British band The 1975 during the concert that took place at the Sepang International Circuit last night.

He added that the government was committed in the country's creative industry development and freedom of speech.

However, he said, do not simply touch on the people's sensitivity especially one that goes against the local belief and values.

In an apparent “show of protest” last night, Healy was expressing his disappointment about the country’s stand on the LGBT (Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Trans) community and ranting about TikTok users debating on the position his hand with a friend's child.

Healy went on to kiss bandmate Ross MacDonald on-stage after his "speech" as a sign of protest and pulled aside.

He later came back on stage to announce that the band just "got banned in Kuala Lumpur" and walked off stage.
