TAWAU - A 60-year-old fisherman is missing after he was suspected to have been attacked by a crocodile at a river in Kampung Mas-Mas Nasib Kita, here.

Tawau Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) chief Jemishin Ujin said the victim, Addi Bangsa, was last seen by his brother at 4am on Wednesday when he stepped off his boat.

He said five BBP personnel rushed to the scene, which is 70 kilometres from the Tawau BBP, and conducted a search and rescue (SAR) operation with the police using boats and water surface search methods at a radius of three kilometres throughout the estuary.

The SAR operation was called off at 6pm and will resume tomorrow.

Jemishin said the victim has not been found yet, but the search operation will continue.

"We will continue the search efforts diligently, and information will be updated periodically," Jemishin assured.
