Mufti warns of legal action against those who practice misguided teachings
GEORGE TOWN - Religious authorities at federal and state levels have been urged to investigate the involvement of certain individuals believed to be followers of the misguided teachings of Suhaini Mohammad or 'Si Hulk'.
The call was made by Penang Mufti Datuk Seri Wan Salim Wan Mohd Noor following the circulation of a viral recording that displayed the individuals making claims about Prophet Muhammad's position as God.
"We hope investigations are done immediately by religious authorities at a federal and state level to identify the individuals involved.
"If they are stubborn and continue to hold on to the misguided teachings, they must be brought to the Sharia Court and be punished according to the current laws," he said in a statement today.
The recording displayed a family whom, after introducing themselves, had one member confessing to what the pioneer of the faith said was true.
The Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) on their website stated that any individuals or groups practising any forms of beliefs or practices that are contrary to the teachings of Islam are considered misguided and legal actions could be taken by religious authorities. authorities.
Wan Salim added that the actions of the family were clearly misguided and must be contained to prevent it from being spread amongst the public in the nation.
"We could not identify the true purpose of this action. However, it can't be denied that such faith was a misguided teaching that must be managed and prevented to prevent it from spreading amongst the Muslims in the nation.
"Those believing that Prophet Muhammad SAW was Allah SWT are considered leaving Islam and apostate which could be sentenced to death according to Islamic law," he said.
He added that scholars have all agreed that Prophet Muhammad SAW was the best being and blessed the world.
"We are informed in Islamic teachings that Prophet Muhammad SAW is a Rasul (prophet) sent by Allah to spread His religion worldwide.
"This fact is understood from several verses of the Quran and Hadiths accompanied by explanations by authoritative scholars.
"However, Prophet Muhammad SAW had an advantage as ‘Sayyidul Khalqi’ or the best of any being should not lead to extreme belief to the point of worshiping him as a god," he said.
In June, Sinar reported that Melaka Religious Department arrested a man suspected of being a member of a misguided teachings group founded by Suhaini Mohammad who stated Prophet Muhammad SAW was Allah.
Education, Higher Education and Religious Affairs Exco Datuk Rahmad Mariman said the 38-year-old man was arrested at a home in the Jasin district at 8.30pm on June 11.
