Minister Tiong's vehicle hit by intoxicated man, say cops
SHAH ALAM - A man believed to be high on drugs crashed into three vehicles including an MPV belonging to the Tourism, Culture Arts Minister Tiong King Sing yesterday.
Petaling Jaya OCPD Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said only the driver of one the vehicles suffered minor injuries to his calves.
The incident took place at 7.25pm, Tuesday.
“I can confirm that Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing was not in his vehicle at the time of the incident.
"He was having dinner nearby when the pick-up truck rammed into his MPV," he was quoted in The Star.
A 43-year-old man has been arrested following the incident and a urine test came back positive for methamphetamines.
The suspect is under four days remand.
ACP Mohamad Fakhrudin said checks revealed that the truck driven by the suspect was a company vehicle.
He urged the public to cooperate with the police and refrain from breaking the law.
