MELAKA - The Melaka Islamic Religious Affairs (JAIM) revealed that it had summoned the organisers of ‘Ratu Pondan’ to the office on Tuesday.

State Education, Higher Education and Religious Affairs Exco Datuk Rahmad Mariman said the organisers, who were foreigners, failed to do so.

He said the organisers had been identified and they would not hesitate to take strict actions if the event continued even when it was not permitted in Melaka.

“Even if it was not on this month (Awal Muharram), we won’t allow it and whatever that could tarnish Melaka’s harmony and purity by such event.

“The organisers were called, currently they have not come forward. Even if they had come, we will not let it continue,” he said.
