SHAH ALAM - Look yourself in the mirror before declaring others as a failure, PKR information chief Fahmi Fadzil slams Selangor Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Datuk Seri Azmin Ali.

"I did not lose in Gombak seat in the last General Election to my protege, so Azmin has to look himself in the mirror and see himself clearly and make sure the image he sees is not hazy," he told Sinar Daily.

Fahmi also pointed out that Azmin had no part to play at the Federal level after he lost thw contested seat and people rejected him.

Fahmi was responding to Azmin's statement which criticised the former, claiming that he failed at his duties as the Communications and Digital Minister.

Azmin had said that Fahmi should focus on his duties first as many people questioned his abilities to helm the ministry as he seemed not to be focused on his role and the goals of the ministry.

Commenting further, Fahmi assured that his role as a Minister had good records, along his administration in the Unity Government.

"The proof of the pie is in the eating and the proof of our work is the records.

"For example, Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) stated that the amount of digital economy investments in the first half of this year amounts to almost three times the investments brought in for digital economy in 2022.

"At the same time, we have seen the freedom of the press index increase tremendously, we have never gained 40 spots in one year ever before, and this is largely due to the policy of this administration and my role as minister to ensure that media are free to operate without any fear and favour," he said.

Fahmi further highlighted the successes achieved under the unity government, which Azmin failed to succeed during his administration as the Economic Affairs Minister.

"Maxis announced to Bursa that they are in the process of signing an access agreement with Digital National Berhad and this was never done during Azmin's days when he was the Economic Affairs Minister.

"His administration failed to convince Maxis to sign. Also, 5G could not be rolled out quickly during his administration as it is right now.

"Therefore, Azmin just needs to accept that he is a failure," Fahmi said.
