Melaka Hospital asked to investigate swelling, pus on two-month-old baby's hand
MELAKA - A man claimed that the hand of his two-month-old nephew was swollen with a pus-filled bump while receiving treatment at the Melaka Hospital recently.
Mohamad Izwan who posted about the incident on social media claimed that the condition of the baby's hand changed after receiving treatment for chickenpox.
Health, Human Resources and Unity exco Ngwe Hee Sem said he has asked the hospital to investigate the claim.
He said he was informed that there was negligence on the doctor's part when the child's right arm which was attached to a catheter was swollen for 11 days after treatment at the hospital.
"I have contacted the hospital's director to investigate the matter.
"The man claimed that doctors asked to perform a surgery to break down the pus from the child's hand," he said when contacted, today.
The post on the hospital's alleged negligence had gone viral since Monday.
