KUALA LUMPUR - Caretaker Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor was reportedly arrested at a hotel in Mont Kiara, here on Tuesday morning.

He was arrested by a police team from the Selangor Criminal Investigation Department (CID) around 3am while he was in a room on floor 33A of the hotel.

Sanusi was then brought in a police four-wheel-drive vehicle escorted by other vehicles from the Selangor Contingent CID towards the Gombak District Police Headquarters (IPD) and a two-minute 50-second video of the arrest went viral on social media.

The video and chronology of the incident was also uploaded on Sanusi’s official Instagram account by his admin.

Sanusi was expected to be brought to the Selayang Sessions Court on Tuesday morning to face charges under Section 4(1)(A) of the Sedition Act.

The media previously reported Sanusi, in a Perikatan Nasional (PN) organised talk, was accused of uttering statements that insulted the Selangor Sultan.

Sanusi had allegedly undermined the appointment of Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Amirudin Shari.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain previously stated police received 31 reports throughout the nation lodged against Sanusi's statement that allegedly disputed the authority of the Selangor Royal Institution.
