SHAH ALAM - Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said a police report has been lodged regarding the social media postings claiming she had cursed Malays and Muslims in Penang who defended the azan (call to prayer).

In a Twitter post on Monday, she said the investigations are ongoing and efforts are underway to locate the irresponsible individuals spreading this defamatory material.

"I will not hesitate to sue for slander that has been spread continuously," she said.

On July 12, the media reported that the Nibong Tebal MP urged the opposition party to stop bringing up the issue of the call to prayer during the state elections.

Fadhlina further added that there are many other important issues that need to be discussed, such as the economy and education.

There was slander linked to Fadhlina, claiming that she was civilised and Islamic; however, this was different when she was on the political stage.
