Probe on Sanusi over 3R issue almost completed, says top cop
KUALA LUMPUR - The investigation papers against caretaker Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor over his alleged insults against the Sultan of Selangor are almost completed, says Inspector-General of Police.
Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said at present more than 90 per cent of the investigation papers involving 3Rs (race, religion, royalty) have been prepared.
The investigation papers are being finalised by investigators from the Elite Crime Investigation Unit (USJT) of the Criminal Investigation Department (JSJ) Bukit Aman, based on all the collected information.
"This includes statements from relevant witnesses and the statements made by the Kedah Menteri Besar," he said when contacted, today.
Razarudin said the police will refer the matter to the Attorney General's Office for further action once the probe is completed.
"We are making every effort to complete these investigation papers as soon as possible for further action in accordance with existing laws.
"I am also satisfied with the investigative process that has been carried out, including the cooperation from Sanusi who provided his statement on July 14," he said.
Previously, the media reported that Sanusi allegedly made statements insulting the Sultan of Selangor during a series of lectures.
In a viral video, Sanusi was allegedly accused of belittling the appointment of the Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.
Meanwhile, in another development, Razarudin also confirmed that the investigation papers against the Pas President Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang and DAP Chairman Lim Guan Eng are also nearing completion.
"Their investigation papers will also be handed over to the Attorney General's Office for further action," he said.
