KOTA BHARU - The Kelantan government will file a police report against an individual accused of slander and defamation relating to the RM30 million Special Projects allocation in the Kelantan Budget 2023.

The budget was tabled, debated, and approved with the support of all Kelantan State Assembly members in the third (Budget) Session for the fifth term of the 14th State Assembly on Nov 27, 2022.

The Menteri Besar's office seriously took the media reports that a complaint had been lodged with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) alleging that the RM30 million had been misused for the Kelantan state election.

The office said that all allocations approved in the Budget 2023 were organised, transparent, and with integrity.

"The RM30 million Special Projects allocation was for the following purposes: Food Supply Guarantee allocation of RM10 million, small projects allocation of RM8 million, flash Flood Management allocation of RM5 million, micro Credit Loan allocation of RM3 million, community Water Project under Water Resource Supply and Alternative Water Supply allocation of RM4 million.

"On this explanation, a police report would be lodged towards the individual for authorities to perform further investigations,” it said on Facebook today.

The office also urged the public not to be influenced by the slanderous allegations, which were motivated by an attempt to discredit the Menteri Besar and the state government ahead of the election.

Sinar reported on Sunday that Kelantan Pemuda Perpaduan has filed a MACC report, demanding a thorough investigation into the Kelantan Government regarding the funds.
