JOHOR BAHRU - A building left idle for more than 20 years at Hospital Sultanah Aminah (HSA) here will be reopened as part of efforts to reduce congestion in the polyclinic area, said Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi.

He said the reopening of this building would make it more comfortable for hospital staff, and several proposals on the reutilisation of the building had been agreed to.

"The proposals include shifting the administrative unit division to the ‘Sister Mess’ building and upgrading the existing space at the administrative division into a Cardiothoracic Clinic and Plastic Surgery Unit.

"The echocardiogram room, better known as echo, will be placed together with the new Cardiothoracic Clinic to make it eaiser for patients to receive treatment,” he said in a post on his official Facebook today.

Early last month, the state government expressed its commitment to finding ways to overcome the issue of congestion experienced by patients at HSA and Hospital Sultan Ismail. - BERNAMA
