Ustaz Azhar Idrus' religious talk postponed due to rescheduling of lecture times
KUALA LUMPUR - The move to postpone the Maghrib religious talk by famous speaker, Ustaz Azhar Idrus at the Saidina Othman Ibnu Affan Mosque, Bandar Tun Razak here, was due to the rescheduling of the lecture times involving speakers and teaching staff.
The Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (Jawi) in a statement today informed that the mosque had notified the speaker of the postponement of the invitation earlier.
"The talk has not been cancelled at all. We feel that any issues that arise can be dealt with harmoniously based on the spirit of brotherhood between all parties," said the statement.
The statement informed that Jawi is committed to ensuring that the institutions of mosques and surau continue to act as a platform of worship, a centre of knowledge, and community unification based on the Administration of Islamic Law (Federal Territories) Act 1993 (Act 505).
Last Thursday, Ustaz Azhar on his official Facebook account apologised after the Maghrib talk scheduled to take place at the mosque tonight had to be cancelled. - BERNAMA
