Kelantan PN to hold mega rally, 80,000 expected to attend including Mahathir
KOTA BHARU - Kelantan Perikatan Nasional (PN) is planning to hold a large rally targeting 80,000 people, which will be open to all Kelantan residents regardless of their political party affiliation.
Kelantan PN Communications Secretary Wan Roslan Wan Hamat said the event will include prayers for the state's well-being to face the upcoming elections, with the participation of various political figures.
The Kelantan Rakyat Munajat Programme will also be attended by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang, Muafakat Nasional chairman Tan Sri Annuar Musa and Arau MP Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim.
Wan Roslan also said the Kelantan PN manifesto will be launched on July 31, offering new programmes for the benefit of the people.
He said the selection of candidates for the elections does not impose any age quota and about 50 per cent of the candidates are new faces.
The candidates have been chosen based on criteria including professionalism, technical expertise and scholarly background.
“All the candidates competing will use the moon logo with Kelantan Maju Rakyat Sejahtera theme,” he said.
List of candidates on July 27
He added PN is preparing to surprise the public with the announcement of its candidates on July 27.
The final screening of candidates has been completed and there will be a total of 45 State Assembly seats with 39 allocated to Pas and six to Bersatu, he added.
The Bersatu candidates will contest in Kok Lanas (Ketereh), Gual Ipoh (Tanah Merah), Paloh and Nenggiri (Gua Musang) and Air Lanas (Jeli) state seats.
However, Wan Roslan said the decision on Kuala Balah or Bukit Bunga in the Jeli Parliamentary has not been finalised.
