Sanusi will not lose his influence if he maintains proper decorum - KJ

SHAH ALAM - Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, will not lose his charisma or influence if he upholds decorum and proper speech.

Former Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin, provided his thoughts on Sanusi's remarks, which were claimed to belittle the appointment of Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari as the Selangor Menteri Besar by Sultan Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.

According to Khairy, although Sanusi has a courageous character, decorum and speech need to be maintained.

"I believe that if Sanusi exercises a bit of decorum, he will not lose his charisma. He has a bit of bravado and so on.

"If he maintains a bit of decorum and is more cautious with his words, I think he will not lose the 'Gung Ho' spirit that he likes, the one that defines his true self and captures the public's interest," he said.

He made these comments during the "Keluar Sekejap" program hosted by former Umno information chief, Shahril Hamdan, which was broadcasted earlier today.

Previously, in a viral speech, the Pas election director allegedly touched on the consent of the Selangor Sultan regarding the appointment of the Selangor Menteri Besar.

As a result, various parties, including members of the Selangor Royal Council, filed police reports, describing it as insulting to the royal institution in Selangor.

However, Sanusi, in a Facebook post, stated that he had apologised to Sultan Selangor and sent a letter explaining the context and true meaning behind the allegedly twisted speech.

Meanwhile, Shahril stated that Sanusi's remarks belittling the royal institution were negligence on his part.

"When we look back at the speech, it was his (Sanusi's) negligence in delivering those words or phrases without considering the impact on the Sultan of Selangor. He actually wanted to criticise the Menteri Besar more.

"He (Sanusi) used unkind words. He was unaware that there was a reference to the royal institution. It was more of a negligence," he said.
