Green Wave term does not mean strict Islamic administration - Muhyiddin
MUKHRIZ MAT HUSINSHAH ALAM - Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has assured the public that a government led by his coalition will be fair and equitable for all.
He dismissed concerns that PN’s administration would resemble the Taliban, saying that the term “green wave” – which is associated with Pas’ logo colour – does not mean that the coalition would impose a strict Islamic administration.
“There are some who fear that a Pas or PN government will be completely different, some even say worse than the Taliban government.
"I don’t even know what the Taliban means. I’ve heard about it. It (PN) will be a fair government,” he said during a question and answer session at the Malaysia Professional Convention 2.0 at the Ideal Convention Centre (IDCC) on Saturday.
Muhyiddin also said that there is nothing to worry about the “green wave” term, as PN will be using both the Pas logo and the combined blue logo in the upcoming state elections.
“Don’t worry about the green wave. I don’t know where that term came from.
"It doesn’t matter because I can now say that we do have the same green and blue wave, which are under PN,” he said.
The state polls will be held in Terengganu, Kelantan, Kedah, Penang, Negeri Sembilan and Selangor on Aug 12.
