Let the cops investigate Sanusi's statements towards Selangor Sultan - MB
NILAM NUR ATIKAH OSHMAN, NOR SYAMIRA LIANA NOR ASHAHAPETALING JAYA - Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari has reminded the public, especially leaders and politicians, to be careful when making speeches or statements so that they do not backfire.
“In the end, he (Sanusi) apologised even though he did not admit his wrong. We leave it to the police to investigate.
“In fact, the government’s move also reminds us not to ride on the 3R issue, which is religion, royalty, and race, because it can backfire.
"Misinformation will cause society to misunderstand,” he told reporters at a press conference after the Youth Voice Convention #Inimasakami earlier today.
Amirudin added that the matter should not have arisen, especially ahead of the state elections, but it has become a lesson for all.
“We should discuss the facts and focus on developing the country,” he said.
The Kedah state leader explained that he had written a letter to the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, to explain the true context of his allegedly twisted speech.
He said that according to the Selangor Palace officer, the Sultan had received and read the letter on Friday.
