State polls: PH still main choice followed by PN and BN - Survey

SHAH ALAM - A survey on the opinions of Malay voters in Selangor conducted by Endeavour-MGC found that 42 per cent of 1,068 respondents have chosen Pakatan Harapan (PH), while 33 per cent are in favour of Perikatan Nasional (PN).

A total of 15 per cent of the respondents were in favour of Barisan Nasional (BN), and one per cent were expected to vote for the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda).

However, in the survey Parti Pejuang Tanah Air (Pejuang) did not receive any support as nine per cent of the respondents answered that they did not know who to vote for.

Based on the findings of the study, respondents who answered "do not know" were likely to vote for PN as the opposition at the national level.

The survey conducted from June 12 to June 18 also revealed that 61 per cent of the respondents considered a party as the most important factor in determining their vote in the upcoming state elections.

A total of 28 per cent of the respondents expressed that they would vote based on the candidates while seven per cent said their decision (vote) would be based on religious background.

Meanwhile, three per cent of the respondents have choosen based on economic factors, and one per cent based on ethnicity.
