SIK - The bungalow owned by the brother of Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor in Kampung Batu Lapan here is valued at RM1 million instead of the RM7.8 million claimed by certain parties.

The owner, Shabudin Md Nor, 57, confirmed this information.

Currently, he resides in a home belonging to his wife's family after his father-in-law passed away several years ago.

Shabudin explained that his family, who used to live in Sungai Petani, decided to move to Sik to accompany his mother-in-law.

"Recently, my mother-in-law passed away, but our family chose to continue living here because we enjoy staying in our hometown.

"That's why we built a house behind the old inherited home," he said during an interview on Friday.

Shabudin, who previously worked as a deep-sea diver after completing his service in the Malaysian Navy, clarified that the construction of the bungalow began in February 2022.

The house has an area of 371 square meters with six rooms and four designated parking spaces.

He also pointed out that the bungalow was built through his hard work as a deep-sea diver, which is still his active career.

When asked about his salary as a diver, he declined to provide further details, stating that he was paid in US dollars.

The construction of the bungalow was recently completed, and Shabudin's family plans to move into the home by the end of July.

Shabudin acknowledged that as the second child among 13 siblings, he had contributed to supporting his parents and aiding in the education of his other siblings.

On the reactions to the viral news about the construction of the bungalow, he expressed that nothing was significant because everything he owned was temporary and from Allah.

"I don't care about these stories. My wife and children are slightly uncomfortable.

"Personally, I believe these are all political stories," he said.

The viral reports recently linked the bungalow with Sanusi.

The Kedah Menteri Besar's Office released a statement clarifying that the home is owned by the Menteri Besar's brother and was built through his hard work over several decades.
