SHAH ALAM – Malaysia is focusing on the inflation rate to ensure price stability of essential goods, said Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli.

According to him, each country had a different approach regarding the matter.

“However, for Malaysia, the government is focused on a stable inflation rate,” he said in a statement on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Rafizi, who is also the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) deputy president said he regretted the actions of Perikatan Nasional (PN), which allegedly tried to provoke using the country’s economy being destroyed due to the instability of inflation.

Rafizi said that Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor also played a role in showing that the government failed to govern by playing on the national currency issue.

“How is the country’s economy destroyed? (It is) the lowest inflation in a year. The economy is growing well compared to other countries.

“According to the national bank, our economy is projected to continue growing from four to five percent, which is one of the best growth in the region.

“So why do you say the economy has been destroyed? Salaries are still running and we will start discussing progressive salaries next month so that people’s salaries will be increased gradually,” he said.
