‘That is Sanusi’s true colour' – Amirudin
KUALA SELANGOR - The action Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor to mock the Selangor royal institutions reflects the true colour of the leader who claims to fight for Malay issues, Selangor Menteri Besar says.
Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said Sanusi’s attitude proved that he did not respect the royal institution, a symbol of community unity in the country.
“(They) repeatedly violated in terms of campaigns, but also the terms and manners with the Sultan and the Malay Rulers,” he said when met at the Bukit Melawati State Legislative Assembly ‘Selangor Kita Arus Merah Kuning’ tour, here, on Wednesday.
Amirudin reminded the Opposition to be more careful in issuing any speech or campaign deemed offensive against the royal institution.
“This is a matter that should be evaluated and realised by them,” said Amirudin.
Asked if the Selangor Palace had issued any statement regarding Sanusi’s remarks, Amirudin said he was unaware of the matter.
“Not sure and I can’t talk about that,” Amirudin said.
Commenting on the possibility of a police report being made, Amirudin said several individuals were expected to lodge reports regarding the matter.
Before this, a video of Sanusi’s speech went viral on the short-form video-sharing app TikTok, which mocked the authority of the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah for appointing Amirudin as Selangor Menteri Besar.
