Girl who ran off into forest after family quarrel found safe
ASYIKIN ASMINKOTA BELUD - The girl who went missing after running into a forest was found safe in Kampung Dudar at 9.30pm on Monday.
Aliesah Aslan, 11, was found safe by the villagers but was tired.
Kota Belud Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) chief Muhammad Syazwan Latun said the girl was taken home to rest.
"It is understood that the child had come out of the nearby forest area and was found at a shop in the village.
"The child was then handed over to his family members. She is safe but believed to be tired," he told Sinar on Tuesday.
He added that the search and rescue (SAR) operation ended at 10.30pm following the discovery of the child.
Sinar Harian reported on Monday that the child had fled to the forest after a fight with his younger sister.
She returned home at 3.30am on Monday but went out again and fled to the forest after finding other family members gathered at his house.
