PN confident of winning S'gor despite fierce competition - Wan Ahmad Fayhsal

KUALA LUMPUR - Perikatan Nasional (PN) does not deny that it will face fierce competition in the Selangor state election that will take place soon.
PN Youth Deputy Head, Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal, pointed out that although there was going to be a tough fight, PN is still confident of capturing Selangor based on Barisan Nasional (BN)'s internal issues and the inability of Pakatan Harapan (PH) to lead the country.
He, who is also the Bersatu Armada leader, added that PN is confident that non-Malay voters will change direction due to the split in BN and the weaknesses that have become apparent in PH.
"PN's main challenge in the polls this time is in Selangor, but we will do our best to ensure that the voters will favour us.
"Our advantage this time is that MCA and MIC are not with BN and are not even wanting to help Umno.
"This will result in Umno fighting alone, so it is an advantage. Therefore, we are confident of tackling Selangor," he said in a press conference on Monday.
Commenting further, Wan said that one of the factors that will contribute to the success of PN in Selangor is the list of candidates who will contest this time.
He said that not only big names like Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali but several other big names who have served in the public sector will join PN in Selangor in this PRN.
"I don't want to get ahead of the top leadership by naming these big names.
"Wait until nomination day. But what can I say? PN is the best choice for Malaysians at this time," he added.
He added that the response received from the rakyat of Terengganu was very encouraging when asked about public support for PN.
He explained that around 50,000 people attended the programme and was confident that PN could create a 32-0 victory in Terengganu.
"We are confident that we can tackle Terengganu and Kelantan as we did in the last 15th General Election (15th GE).
"As much as possible, we don't want to give anything to Umno or PH in these two states," he explained.
