SHAH ALAM - Kelantan Menteri Besar's aide Lau Chin Chua says the non-Muslim community in the state has no issues with the government's policies, further stating that it is only Pas's political rivals, portrayed through biased narratives by some media outlets.

He said these outlets aim to depict Kelantan negatively and instill fear among non-Muslims for electoral gains.

"Most of the sceptics are those who live outside Kelantan. They have never visited Kelantan but make numerous negative claims about the state," Lau was quoted in FMT.

Lau was further quoted to say that non-Muslim communities in Kelantan enjoy the freedom to practice their beliefs and construct places of worship.

He said the non-Muslims communities in Kelantan have their freedom to practise their beliefs and build houses of worships with Buddhist temples officially recognised and designated as places of religious activities.

"Some temples were even built on land exceeding 4ha. No tax is imposed (on the temples)," he said.

Therefore, Lau calls outsiders who are sceptical about the government's policies to visit Kelantan and see how non-Muslim communities live there.

Lau was commenting on Gerakan deputy president Oh Tong Keong's claim that policies in Pas-led states causing concerns among the non-Malay communities.

Last month, a woman in Kelantan was fined for wearing shorts in her shop.
