PN wants to create new S'gor base on what model? Kelantan? PH ask PN
MOHD IZZATUL IZUAN TAHIRSHAH ALAM - Selangor Pakatan Harapan says there is no reason for the people in the state to change the administration which has proven to grow the state's well being and economy.
“PN wants to create a new Selangor that is based on what? Do they want to use models like in Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah?
“I don’t see that model being acceptable by the people of Selangor who are far ahead,” said state elections director Mohd Yahya Mat Shari.
Selangor under PH is the richest and most develop state in Malaysia while Kelantan under Pas has been reported to be one of the poorest and under developed state in Malaysia.
He also advised PN not to "daydream" based on a study conducted by a foreign body suggesting that the Madani government may lose Selangor and Negeri Sembilan.
He said PN should consider local political studies who have a better understanding of the current scenario in the country.
“Why use studies done by bodies from abroad. Use studies done by universities.
"Does PN lack confidence and trust in local research bodies? We, on the PH side, believe that studies presented by local thinkers offer a more accurate perspective compared to those from foreign entities,” he told Sinar, today.
Previously, a portal reported that Pas secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan revealed that a study conducted by a foreign body revealed the possibility of the Madani government losing Selangor and Negeri Sembilan in the upcoming state election.
PH is also predicted to face competition and surprises in Penang while PN continues to strengthen its grip in Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah.
Yahya said a study by local thinkers predicts the opposite outcome, suggesting that the unity government in Selangor is expected to retain power and continue governing the state.
“That’s just one study, on the other hand, 11 or 12 local studies done in the country state that we (PH) will win in (state election) Selangor.
“However, this is only a study of a survey conducted on some individuals or respondents,” he explained.
Due to that he told Perikatan Nasional that solely relying on studies carried out by bodies abroad that PN could win Selangor and Negeri may not accurately reflect the ground reality.
Instead, he said the importance of considering factors of effective political machinery and the trust of the people.
