KOTA BHARU - Following Perak Pas Commissioner Razman Zakaria's invitation for MCA and MIC to join Perikatan Nasional (PN), Arau MP Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim has also extended the same proposal to the leaders of the two parties.

Shahidan acknowledged that MCA and MIC are two prominent parties within Umno and expressed his belief that they can also lend their support to PN.

"I suggest that these two party leaders support us, and we will uphold justice together," he told reporters after the Pengkalan Chepa Parliament People's Alternative Stage Programme on Friday.

It was reported that Razman invited the component parties of Barisan Nasional (BN), MCA and MIC to join PN following the decision to not contest in next month's state election.

Razman is confident that the participation of MCA and MIC in PN is capable of attracting at least 20 to 30 per cent support from voters of their respective races.

Meanwhile, Shahidan pointed out that the "migration" of Muafakat Nasional (MN) President Tan Sri Annuar Musa to Pas has significantly impacted PN.

"Annuar is an individual who has many supporters in Umno and will certainly have a positive impact on PN," he said.

In another development, Shahidan said, PN Arau will send its machinery to help the states facing state elections.

He said a total of 1,000 volunteers worked hard in Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah, Penang, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan to ensure PN's victory.

"Previously, they have worked hard in about 60 state elections and are now ready to work in ten state legislative assemblies in the next election," he said.
