Muslim countries urged to sever ties with Israel - Mohamad Sabu
ROSKHOIRAH YAHYASHAH ALAM - Muslim countries are urged to take decisive and united action to sever ties with Israel and exert political pressure on them, says Amanah President Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu.
He pointed out that several Muslim nations, including those in the Middle East like the UAE and Bahrain, have established diplomatic relations with Israel, which has emboldened Israel in oppressing the Palestinian people.
He said countries like Egypt and Jordan which share an extensive border with Israel had long recognised the illegal state, while Morocco and Turkey were among the first countries to recognise it since 1952.
"This is what makes Israel comfortable to keep oppressing and ruining the land of the Palestinian people.
"They receive cooperation from Muslim countries that established diplomatic relations especially trade relations which are growing with the nation in question.
"It is something weird because these Muslim countries that recognise Israel are rich and have their own military force. They don't need any economic dependence on Israel," he explained on his Facebook earlier today.
In contrast, he noted that left-wing countries like China, Cuba, and Venezuela have condemned Israel's land seizure and illegal settlements in the West Bank and have refused cooperation with Israel.
However, he expressed hope in the unity among Palestinians and their determination to fight against occupation, even as they face challenges and limited support from neighboring Arab nations.
Mohamad is confident that Palestine will achieve liberation from long-standing occupation soon.
