MELAKA - A man was tragically killed after falling from the 41st floor of a hotel in Melaka in the early hours of Wednesday.

The incident left the victim's body severely damaged and scattered in the area.

Melaka Tengah district police chief Assistant Commissioner Christopher Patit confirmed receiving a report about the incident at 12:20am.

The police quickly responded and discovered the victim's body, which had suffered extensive injuries from the waist up, indicating a fall from a significant height.

"We received a complaint from a 25-year-old individual, and our team subsequently arrived at the scene for investigation.

"The hotel where the incident occurred has 42 floors, and it is believed that the victim fell from the 41st floor," he said in a statement today.

According to a witness, they heard a loud noise resembling a tire explosion before witnessing the victim's tragic fall.

The witness immediately notified the hotel receptionist and emergency services.

The victim's body has been sent to the Hospital Melaka Forensic Unit for a post-mortem.

Police have classified the case as a sudden death investigation.
