SHAH ALAM - Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has called for unity among Malays in combating the hidden agendas of their opponents.

This message was conveyed by Selangor Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali in an Instagram post following his visit with his wife, Datin Seri Shamsidar Taharin, to Dr Mahathir and his wife, Tun Siti Dr Hasmah Mohamad Ali, on Sunday afternoon.

Azmin shared that the call for unity came after discussing various current issues with Dr Mahathir.

"Tun provided me with insights into the current political landscape of the country.

"In addition to economic and cost of living concerns, he highlighted the importance of Malay unity against opponents with hidden agendas.

"For over an hour, Shida and I were graciously treated to a delightful array of Eid delicacies, including ketupat, nasi impit, chicken rendang, fruit rojak, bihun tauchu, banana pengat, and lai chi kang drink.

"Alhamdulillah, next week Tun will celebrate his 98th birthday, while Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali will celebrate her 97th. We thank Allah SWT for granting them good health and pray for their continued protection and blessings," Azmin wrote.

Azmin also highlighted Dr Mahathir's esteemed international reputation, evident in the invitations he receives from various countries.
