ALOR SETAR - Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) only need to garner around six to seven per cent of Perikatan Nasional (PN) voters' support in the 15th General Election (GE15) to win the 16 state seats in Kedah polls.

During a press conference after the BN-PH state leaders meeting on Sunday, Mahfuz stated that if the vote share increases to 10 per cent, the coalition parties will have a strong chance of taking over the state administration.

"We are confident that by regaining the support of those who had previously turned away from BN and PH, we only need to secure approximately six to seven percent of the vote.

"However, if we manage to reach 10 percent, I believe we can form the state government," he said.

Meanwhile, Kedah BN chairman Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid confirmed that discussions regarding the nomination of candidates from both parties have been concluded and will be announced prior to the state election nomination.

Mahdzir Khalid further stated that the issue of overlapping seats has been resolved.

"We have finalised the list of candidates, and we have their names.

"We will announce them before the nomination period set by the Election Commission (EC). Insha'Allah, the candidates will be announced soon," he assured.
