KOTA BHARU - Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang's health condition is stable today.

The party's vice-president Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah said Hadi, who is also Marang MP, has been transferred from the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) to a normal ward.

"His condition is better today and he has been transferred to a normal ward.

"But he is still under treatment and doctor's supervision," he said when contacted by Sinar, today.

Amar who is also Kelantan Deputy Menteri Besar said visitation was not allowed to give Hadi space to recover.

"Everyone is not visiting him, let him rest properly and we pray that he recovers quickly," he said.

It was previously reported that several programmes involving Hadi had to be postponed due to his deteriorating health prior to the Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration.

The last programme attended by former Terengganu Menteri Besar, was to officiate the State Pas Youth Assembly election machinery held at Dewan Tok Guru, Rusila, Marang on Wednesday.

It was understood that Hadi already looked unwell and sick during the programme even though he was able to officiate the launching of the election machinery.

Previously, Hadi's eldest son Muhammad Khalil shared news of his father being admitted to the hospital on Thursday via his Facebook page.

Hadi who is also Perikatan Nasional deputy chairman was once admitted to the Putrajaya Hospital in February believed to be due to having shortness of breath before he was transferred to the National Heart Institute (IJN) for further treatment.

Khalil, however, did not reveal the name of the hospital Hadi was currently being admitted to, to avoid many people from visiting his father who was ill.

Meanwhile, Bachok MP Mohd Syahir Che Sulaiman also shared about Hadi's improved health condition.

Syahir who is also the Pas president's political secretary shared the news on his Instagram account.

He said Hadi also spent time to write, read and discuss on the current affairs.

"Alhamdulillah, Tuan Guru's health condition has improved, he has recovered and is being monitored. His free time is filled with reading and writing (he is finishing writing two new articles), and also discussing current affairs.

"Tuan Guru sends his regards to everyone. Thank you for the prayers and for keeping him in mind," he said in the post today.

On Friday, the morning kuliah (lecture) at Masjid Rusila, Marang which was usually delivered by Hadi was conducted by his son Khalil.

Khalil shared on Facebook yesterday that Hadi was admitted to the hospital to receive further treatment and being monitored by doctors due to his deteriorating health prior to Hari Raya Aidiladha.
