Two armed men escape with cash, jewellery worth RM200,000

KUALA PILAH - Two men armed with sharp weapons managed to flee the scene with a safe containing about RM100,000 in cash, jewellery valued at RM120,000 and the victim's vehicle during an incident at Taman Impian Utama Jalan Melang here, yesterday.

Kuala Pilah district police chief Superintendent Amran Mohd Ghani said the report on the incident was received around 11 pm.

"Initial investigations have revealed that the suspects, wearing masks and armed with sharp weapons, entered the residence and had a confrontation with the victim.

"The suspects then proceeded to threaten the victim, demanding to surrender of all valuable items before making their escape," he said in a statement, today.

He further said the suspect stole a safe containing with an estimated amount of RM100,000 in cash, along with jewellery worth RM120,000, a White Toyota Estima bearing the license plate WRW 3652 and an additional RM1,000 in cash.

The case is investigated under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code for armed robbery.
