KOTA BHARU - Kelantan Mufti Datuk Mohamad Shukri Mohamad advises all candidates including voters to not display a childish attitude in the upcoming state elections.

He said such attitudes must be avoided to prevent any altercation and disunity in the country.

“We have gone through several elections. They say having multiple elections should make us mature.

“Whether in a campaign or other things, let's act like adults and don't be childish,” he said in a press conference, today.

Earlier, Shukri officiated the Arafah #QuranHour 1444H programme themed 'Syukur Membina Takwa' at the Sultan Muhammad II Mosque, Telipot, here, today.

A total of 700 people participated in the programme organised by the Warisan Ummah Ikhlas Foundation (WUIF).

Shukri added that all candidates and campaign machineries as well as the voters especially Muslims must portray good manners as a fundamental part of the Islamic faith.

He said the election was a means of choosing a leader which meant that good things must be portrayed for the country and the people.
