Muar PKR severs ties with Muda for 'going solo'
ZULHISHAM ISAHAKJOHOR BAHRU - Muar Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) decided to sever any form of cooperation with the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) for the Muar parliamentary constituency.
PKR Muar branch secretary, Esa Ali, said that this decision follows Muda's choice to contest independently in the upcoming elections in six states.
"Hence, this decision has violated the political cooperation of the unity government in the form of an electoral pact between Muda and PH (Pakatan Harapan)," he said in a statement on Monday.
On Monday, Muda expressed its stance to contest independently in the upcoming elections in six states.
This position will lead Muda to face off against PH, which is collaborating with BN (Barisan Nasional) and Perikatan Nasional (PN), Pas, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), and Parti Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia (Gerakan).
