Police conduct Op Lancar for five days during Aidiladha
KUALA LUMPUR - The police will carry out Op Lancar in conjunction with the celebration of Hari Raya Aidiladha to ensure smooth traffic flow throughout the country on Wednesday.
Federal Police Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department Director (JSPT), Datuk Seri Mat Kasim Karim, said that Op Lancar will be conducted for five days until Sunday.
"Road users are expected to make their journeys from Wednesday until Sunday as Hari Raya Aidiladha falls on June 29, which is Thursday.
"The operation will focus on all major highways such as the North-South Expressway, Karak Expressway, East Coast Expressway (LPT), and highways connecting states and districts," he told Sinar on Monday.
He stated that Op Lancar aims to monitor and take traffic dispersal measures at all traffic light intersections or intersections where excessive congestion is expected.
He further explained that all federal roads, state roads, and urban roads will also be monitored to ensure smooth traffic movement.
"We advise road users always to cooperate, be courteous, cautious, and fully focus on driving to prevent accidents.
"Plan your journeys with good health and a clear mind," he said.
Mat Kasim added that JSPT personnel nationwide will monitor congestion locations in their respective states.
